SEN Code of Practice 2018 - What is SEND?
A child has special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) if they have a learning difficulty or disability which means that they find it significantly harder to learn, or to do activities expected for their age. These children may need extra support, or special provision made for them, to ensure they can fully access the curriculum and all school activities. If your child has special educational needs or disabilities their needs will fall into one or more of the four main areas of SEN, as outlined within the SEND Code of Practice.

Support Plans and Pupil Passports
For children on the SEND register, we follow the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle. We use provision map to create individual support plans and pupil passports for children which are reviewed termly. We use a child-centred approach and the child's view, parent/carer view and teacher view are all incorporated within these plans.
Additional Support
We work closely with specialist teachers from the Specialist Education Services (SES) to support children in our setting, when appropriate to do so. We follow Suffolk's graduated response and will consider an Educational, Health, Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) if required.
